Fred Olsen Band Cruise 2025 - Update 17th Oct 2024
After a number of discussions and clarifications with the Fred Olsen team we’ve got confirmation of the approimate prices for sharing cabins and solo occupancy cabins. As examples we’ve used the cheapest inside I Grade cabins for sharing and the Outside restricted view CO grade cabins for solo occupancy. They are example figures to hopefully help outline the costs and show potential fundraising/cost offset so far but will only be confirmed once the discount / promo code becomes available to us, hopefully in the next few days. We’ll go through this at band but if you want any more information please give Teresa a call on 07769907312 Cruise Date: 9th July 2025 Ship: Bolette Cruising From: Liverpool Duration: 9 nights Destination: Norwegian Fjords Playing: 3 times Glaciers, Mountains & Fjords of Norway Cruise | Fred. Olsen Cruises (fredolsencruises.com)  Below are the example prices. The 2 tables on left show sharing prices, and the table on right shows the solo occupancy. For solo occupancy there are additional post sailing discounts that will apply and are shown at the bottom of the table.                       Below are some figure to hopefully give examples of the overall costs including any money raised or that could potentially reduce the costs for folks. We’ve used the lowest cost of cabin available to either sharing or single travellers. Some question we had from the meeting on 6 th  Oct 2024 and the replies from Fred Olsen:  Are there any pedal cycles for hire on the ship ? No 2. Can a pedal cycle be taken on the ship ? We are only able to accept folding bicycles on board for use ashore only. Your folding bicycle must be stored in your cabin at all times and is not permitted on board tender boats. 3. Can the band have an early check in on the ship as a group ? The Coppull and Standish Brass Band are able to check in from 1:30pm on the date of departure. 4. Is it possible to have a reduced deposit, for example £100 per person? Think this would be more appealing for booking early especially before Christmas. Unfortunately, our terms and conditions state that a minimum of a 15% deposit needs to be taken at the time of booking so we can not change the amount of deposit for this group cruise. 5. For NHS workers in the group is there any additional Blue Light Discount ? Affinity discounts and group deals are not combinable so in this case we wouldn’t be able to honour the blue light card discount if this guest books onto this group promotion. 6. If Option 1 is chosen can the OBS be used to book excursions or purchase a drinks package prior to boarding? The free on board will be allocated to the guests on board account. The on board spend can only be used whilst on board and not beforehand. Drinks packages can be purchased at a higher price of £34.99pp and must be booked no later than the end of the second day of your cruise. 7. Any WiFi discounts ? The Wifi is at a standard price and is unable to be discounted. Please see the list of prices and packages for wifi on our website. Is there WiFi on board? | Fred. Olsen Cruises (fredolsencruises.com) 8. Can first time cruisers join the Oceans Loyalty scheme immediately and take advantage of the 5% discount ? First time cruisers will become oceans members after their first cruise and will be able to take advantage of their 5% discount on their second cruise providing, they book within enough lead time. Join Our Exclusive Oceans Loyalty Club | Fred. Olsen Cruises (fredolsencruises.com) 9. If Option 1 is chosen can a drinks package be added at any time ? If option one is selected, the drinks package can be added onto a guest booking at £24.99 per person by calling our Guest Services Team on 0800 0355 144. This can be added up until the date of departure. However once on board the price of the drinks package will increase to £35.99 per person and must be booked no later than the end of the second day of your cruise. We recommend the drinks package is added prior to sailing. 10. Is it possible for us to give a date to book one after another and work with a dedicated Fred Olsen booking colleague ? As discussed on our phone call the other day, unfortunately we are unable to allocate one member from our reservations team to book everyone in your group. 11. Do we have use of the drum kit on board ? Yes, the Coppull and Standish Band will be able to use the drum it on board 12. Does the theatre/ship have Timpani drums ? The ship doesn’t have Timpani Drums. If you wish to use a Timpani drum, you would be required to bring your own. 13. As discussed, could you confirm there Is allocated space on the ship for instruments and equipment ? I have had it confirmed that there will be an allocated space on board for you to store your instruments and equipment. This will be confirmed with you by my colleague Hayley 3 weeks prior to departure.  14. After booking you would confirm were we will play (this is so we can do dress/uniform changes and set programmes back drop etc) ? My colleague Hayley will be in touch with you three weeks prior to departure to advise where you will be playing on the ship . 15. How long are the Options on for, we understand that the drinks package is only available until 31 st  October ? Could this be extended if any guests wish to join after that date ? Unfortunately, we will be unable to extend the free drinks package offer past the 31 st  of October as this is a campaign offer and is no longer available past the 31 st  of Oct 24. Option 1 with 10% group discount and £125pp OBS is valid until 12 weeks prior to departure. Option 2 with 5% discount and free drinks valid until the 31 st  of October 2024. 16. How long is Option 1 available for should guest wish to join at a later date ? Option 1 with 10% group discount and £125pp OBS is valid until 2 weeks prior to departure 17. Are the Options to be taken per guest ? For guests sharing a cabin, they must be booked onto the same deal. 18. Could we have a list of on shore travel that could be booked ? Once booked, guests will shortly receive a journey guide containing all shore tours available and prices. 19. Solo occupancy on that grade of cabin is expensive. Just to clarify (will discuss on call today as per previous emails) a. If Option 1 chosen a guest would get 10% discount + 5% loyalty discount (if travelled before) + 25% solo traveller discount but won’t get the on board spend ? b. If Option 2 chosen a guest would get 10% discount + 5% loyalty discount (if travelled before) + 25% solo traveller discount from the CO price ? 19. Are there any cheaper cabin options for solo travellers ? 20. Are there any allowances for taking own alcohol on board ? No alcohol is permitted onboard. 22. Could a guest take a bottle of cordial on board ? Yes, if it is carried in their hand luggage. There is also cordial served at the bars. 23. Can chocolate or crisps be taken on board ? Yes 24. Is there anything else that can be offered, especially for the Solo Travellers ? (Will discuss further on our call today as per previous emails) 25. If someone changes their mind regarding the choice of cabin at a later date, are they able to upgrade ? Chargeable upgrades can be made with our reservations team once a guest has made their booking. 26. Should anything happen after the group has booked and guests don’t travel, the other guests won’t be penalised and loose their options ? Guests who have already booked will not be penalised if other guests do not travel. 27. Should we loose members and guests and drop below the 30 number we would lose the entertainment room and nothing else on our booking ? As long as the group number is above 10 your group discount and benefits will still remain the same. 28. Should something happen and we unable to perform we would lose the £800 performance fee, but we would keep our group booking options ? Even if you are unable to perform on the cruise your group deal would still be applicable however as you have cancelled the performance the entertainment fee would be deducted. a. If you should have to cancel a performance due to circumstances out of our control, would you look at rescheduling for another sea-day, and if this was not possible would be no deduction in the £800 fee ? If we were to cancel your performance, we would look into rescheduling and even if this isn’t possible, we wouldn’t deduct the £800 entertainments fee as it would be us that cancelled the performance. 29. How do we know we would get the rooms we require and once we start booking won’t end up with some guest having to book more expensive rooms due to lack of availability ? ( as discussed in previous emails and will discuss further today) 30. Can we guarantee all our group being able to dine on the early sitting (6pm), unless someone specifically requests the later sitting ? I am currently checking this with our yield department. I will let you know when I receive a response. 31. Will we all be allocated tables in the same area ? Yes, my colleague Hayley will be in touch to arrange your dining arrangements 3 weeks prior to departure. 32. If a family of 4 are booking and want to choose adjoining rooms is this possible ?
